Garden Decor

Handmade Garden Lanterns

It seems like my yard work never ever ends. I love being outside but it seems like every time I sit down to relax I see a weed in the corner or flowers that need pruned back. It is a lot of work so I am going to reward myself by buying something for my garden that isn't fertilizer or a new pair of pruners, because I may or may not have thrown mine at a giant spider and broke them.

I have been looking for some cute lanterns for my garden and I found a really cute one here

I love the yellow color and it can just sit on my table so it does not require any work to install it :) I think I will put one of those citronella candles in it to keep away the mosquito's.

Charleston Day Trip

Day Trip to Charleston, South Carolina

Amazing Food and People

My boyfriend surprised me with a day trip to Charleston for my birthday. Both of us had never been and it was so much fun. We spent most of the day touring the city by foot. I refused to use the horse carriages because it just seems cruel. The buildings there are so beautiful and unique. The picture above is of an old church and cemetery, I forget the name.

My absolute most favorite part of the trip had to be the food and the people. I love a good beer and old pubs so my boyfriend arranged for us to go on a pub tour. At first I thought it was just going to be the two of us, which would have been a bit awkward, but then the really sweet Australian couple walked in and joined our group. We had such a great time and maybe a bit too much to drink but it was my birthday :) I would recommend doing the pub tour. They take you to the historic bars and pubs and give you an interesting history on each one and not the kind of history where you want to fall asleep, actual interesting facts.

If you are ever in Charleston and are looking for something fun to do this is the name of the pub tour. I will also post some links to the really great restaurants and bars that we ate in at a later date.
